XRP Payment Troubleshooting: Four Reasons a Deposit Is Missing
A missing tag is one of four reasons a deposit can fail to appear, and it is the one this site is about. This note puts it in context so you can tell which one you have. Check them in order, because each one is quicker to rule out than the next.
Start with the hash. Everything below depends on being able to look the payment up.
One: it has not finished yet
A payment that is still being confirmed has not been credited by design. Roobet says one confirmation for XRP, BitStarz’s page data counts three, and Duelbits says usually within five minutes. If the explorer shows the payment as successful and only a few minutes have passed, wait.
Two: it is below the minimum
Four operators publish an XRP minimum: Cloudbet 0.1, Rollbit 4, BitStarz 5, Vave 7.8 (from a 2023 article). Rollbit says deposits below its minimums will not credit and cannot be recovered by support. Check the cashier’s current figure against what you sent.
Three: wrong coin or wrong address
Compare the receiving address in the explorer with the cashier’s, character by character. A single wrong character sends the payment somewhere else entirely, and that is not a tag question. Duelbits warns that sending funds to the wrong address may result in permanent loss, and the explorer tells you immediately whether you did.
Four: the tag was empty or wrong
If the address matches and the amount is fine, look at the destination tag in the explorer. Empty, or different from the cashier’s? Then follow the steps on the home page: confirm it validated, identify whose address it is, and write once with the hash. This is the case where the payment is on the right address and nobody has linked it to you.
Whichever it is, bring the same three things
The hash, the explorer’s verdict on status, address and tag, and a screenshot of what the cashier showed you when you sent. With those, support can tell in seconds which of the four applies. Without them the first reply is a request for them, and a day is gone. Writing down your own finding, such as “the explorer shows the tag empty”, saves the operator one step and shows you have already checked.
Short answers
| Which reason is most likely? | We have no data on frequency. The explorer settles it in a minute: check status, address, amount and tag, in that order. |
|---|---|
| Should I contact support before checking? | No. A message with the hash and your findings is answered faster than one that only says the deposit is missing. |
